Northam to the Great Southern — Distance Done Properly

It's the fair question every Great Southern customer asks a Northam-based builder: does the distance matter? Handled properly, it doesn't — and handling it properly is exactly what we've spent 20+ years getting right across regional WA.

We own and run our own fleet — a 10-tonne and 5-tonne excavator, rock-breaking attachments, a bobcat and a ditch witch — and our truck is set up to mobilise that gear across the state. We quote the realities of your location upfront: travel, access, ground conditions, the lot. No standard-metro-block assumptions, no surprise "+ + +" charges once we're on site.

We also schedule our jobs strategically by area, which keeps costs sensible and means our customers get a smooth, well-organised install regardless of how far out they are.

"Nat and Nick made sure the distance in kms from Northam to Katanning wasn't felt, and the entire process from quote to sign off was stress free and seamless. Countrywide have made our pool dreams come true. Best in the biz." — Chenoa, Katanning WA

Pools Across Regional WA

The Great Southern is the newest part of our service area, but we've been installing pools across regional WA for over 20 years. We also cover the Avon Valley and the Wheatbelt.

We service from Exmouth to Esperance and most places in between (excluding Perth Metro).

Honest Advice on Great Southern Ground

Across most of the Great Southern, ground conditions are relatively easy to work with. It gets harder in some pockets — rockier country towards the eastern edge of the region — and every block is different, which is why a proper site assessment matters.

We allow for excavator digs upfront rather than assuming an easy job, and we carry rock-breaking gear so harder ground is handled as part of the dig. We'd rather quote it properly the first time than surprise you later. In 20+ years across regional WA, we've yet to find a block we couldn't get a pool into.

We install premium fibreglass pools built for Australian conditions — durable, low maintenance and quick to install. From family pools to lap pools, plunge pools and spa combinations, there's a design to suit your property and how you want to use it.

Our team will help you choose the right pool design — browse the full pool range here. And our Pool Planner tool lets you drop a pool onto an aerial image of your own property before you enquire.

The Great Southern is a region we now service across the board — Albany, Mount Barker, Katanning, Kojonup, Narrogin, Broomehill, Gnowangerup, Woodanilling, Ravensthorpe and the properties in between. We've already completed installs right across the region and we cover it as a core part of our service area.

  • Handled properly, no. We own a fleet set up to mobilise across the state and we schedule jobs strategically by area. We quote the travel and access realities of your location upfront, so there are no surprises. As one of our Katanning customers put it, the distance from Northam simply "wasn't felt."

  • A fully installed fibreglass pool generally falls between $30,000 and $120,000+, depending on the pool size, your site conditions and any extras like fencing, heating or fit-out. We factor travel and access into the quote upfront, so the figure you get is the real picture. For a detailed breakdown, see our pool cost guide on the blog.

  • Across most of the region the ground is relatively easy to work with, though it gets rockier in some pockets towards the eastern edge. Every block is different, so we allow for excavator digs upfront and carry rock-breaking gear — meaning harder ground is handled without surprise extras.

  • Once we're on site, a fibreglass pool install generally takes 2-4 days depending on site conditions and weather. The full process from enquiry to swimming usually runs 3-9 months once you factor in design, approvals, manufacturing and scheduling.
